How To Create A Mood Board
One of my favorite parts about my room is my mood board; I had so much fun collecting mementos from trips, saving scraps of fabric, and choosing art I’ve created to display on the cork board. It’s a happy challenge to decide what to add and what to leave out, as well as how to arrange them. So, I wanted to share a few ideas about how to make your own mood board, one that just speaks you.
- Form a plan
First, choose a theme and a color palette of 3-5 colors, and go from there. Decide if you want to include pictures, doodles, paint swatches, or anything else that catches your fancy. π
2. Gather Supplies
All you really need is a cork board, pushpins, and whatever you choose to decorate it with. Here’s a link to some of the materials I used:

3. Arrange the materials
Start sorting the papers and scraps you’ve collected by pinning the largest objects first and then smaller ones last. If you include pictures, spread them out so there’s a nice mix of elements. It can be as simple or elaborate as you make it. π I really wanted my mood board to reflect the feel and flavor of my bedroom: I designed my room to be bright and cheery, so all the things I incorporated are that same vibe.
Happy creating!
