DIY Rick Rack Sneakers

AS we head into spring, I’ve been so excited to pull out favorite bright, statement shoes, including these rick rack ones. I had the inspiration to make my own sneakers after seeing a beautiful but quite expensive pair online and thought, I could make that! So, I bought a pair of plain white, low-heel sneakers at Old Navy and ordered rick rack in different colors from an Esty shop. The fun part is choosing a color palette and deciding how many strands to buy. I went with a colorway of light pink, sea foam green, sunburst orange, sky blue, and French blue.
Next, I cut out the rick rack to fit vertically on the shoe side, gluing them on with Clear Gel Tacky Glue. I would recommend using a hot glue gun though, because the rick rack occasionally falls off, and I have to glue it back on. ๐ And viola! You now have a custom shoe that can instantly brighten any outfit.
